APRIL 1, 2010 - BROKE MY STALL AND GETTING SMALL!

As some of you may know, I have been on a stall since July 2009. A little up and down here or there, but I did not really lose weight, and then I started gaining again.

I have been on a reduced number of net carbs for a long time, and I finally decided, a couple of weeks ago, to increase my net carbs from 14 with 1600 calories with 70% fat, then to 16 with 1700 calories with 70% fat, and then up to 20 with 1800 calories with 70% fat.

The theory is that I had probably reached a set point with my weight, and increasing net carbs would not make me gain weight.

So I decided to take a break from losing weight for a few months, and just try to maintain my weight doing the 1800 calories and 20 net carbs and 70% fat.

This plan turned out to be a miserable failure, because, lo and behold, I started losing again!

Here are my results in the last two weeks:

158.0 - Highest weight ever
150.0 - Starting Atkins March 15, 2009
140.0 - Lowest weight in July 2009
144.8 - Weight 2 weeks ago March 14, 2010
142.0 - Weight today March 28, 2010

In the past 2 weeks, since increasing my net carbs to 20 and my calories to 1800 with 70% fat, I have lost 2.8 pounds!

And that's not all! Here is what I have lost in inches in the past 2 weeks:

Neck - 13" to 12.75" - lost 1/4"
Bicep - 11.75" to 12" - gained 1/4" (I've been lifting weights)
Midriff - 30.75" to 30.5" - lost 1/4"
Waist - 30" to 29.25" - lost 3/4"
Navel - 35" to 34" - lost 1"
Calf - 14" to 13.75" - lost 1/4"

(My forearms, bust, hips and thighs stayed the same.)

In the past 2 weeks, I have lost 2-1/4"!

In order to get back to my smallest size back in July, I only need to take off 3/4" on my bust, 3/4" off my midriff, 1/4" off my waist, 1-1/4" off my navel (gulp!), 1" off my hips, and 1/2" off my thighs.

So, starting today, I am increasing my net carbs to 25, still with 1800 calories and 69% fat! I feel like a newbie again!

This time last year, I could only eat 11 net carbs with 1400 calories. Obviously, my metabolism is healing.

I love Atkins!!!
